Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a program that facilitates volunteer visits to older members of the community in metro Melbourne. It aims to provide social connection, friendship and companionship to those who need it most.
Visits are available to anyone who:
- receives government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care Packages, including care recipients approved or on the National Priority System for residential or home care packages
- is socially isolated.
ACVVS aims to support older people from particular linguistic, cultural and complex vulnerability backgrounds who may be at greater risk of social isolation. Via the scheme, they are eligible for at least 20 visits per year from a volunteer. This can be one-on-one or in a residential aged care setting.
For more information or to get involved, contact us on 1300 552 509.
Funded by the Australian Government.
